Our Policies

While at the lesson:

Please arrive to the lesson early as to make good use of the allocated time. Parents can either choose to wait in the allocated waiting area or in their car. Parking is available outside the apartment block, or if available, in the allocated visitor parking. A text message will be sent to parents once the lesson is complete and the student can either be collected or I can walk them to the car.

Lesson time will not be extended in the case of student's arriving late.

 

Lessons and Tuition:

Lessons are taught weekly at my house and require a minimum commitment of 2 weeks, which will be paid in full a week prior to term. Ongoing lessons will be paid fortnightly and are due in full on the Monday of each fortnight. Teaching terms coincide with regular high school terms unless communicated otherwise. Payment can be made via bank transfer or in cash. These payments are non-refundable.

Mid-term enrolments are possible dependant on availability and will be paid for in the same manner as pre-scheduled lessons.

If payment is not made by due date a reminder will be sent to your number and or email as discussed prior and will incur a $10 late payment fee. If there is no reply to this reminder then the subsequent lessons will be cancelled. If the payment can not be made but there is intention to keep lessons going, the lessons will be cancelled and will resume after the next payment date. This exception is only allowed twice a year, any following incidents will incur a $25 fee. If this situation occurs more than four times, lessons may be cancelled indefinitely. 

 

Parent/Guardian Supervision: 

Parents and guardians are welcome to attend the first lesson. To maintain a focused, fun and efficient learning environment for the student, we advise that the following lessons are not attended unless discussed with me beforehand.

 

Cancellation/Missed Lessons:

If I need to cancel a lesson it can either be rescheduled to a suitable date or refunded.

If the student cancels more than 24 hours beforehand, the lesson may be rescheduled depending on my availability. If a date and time cannot be agreed upon before the next payment date, the lesson will be forfeited. In the case of a student cancelling after the 24 hour window, the lesson will be forfeited. As stated before, payments are non-refundable if the student is liable.

When enrolling each fortnight, students are reserving and committing to a specific weekly lesson time. If lessons are on-going it will be expected that the same lesson time will be reserved each period. If the lessons need to be permanently or temporarily rescheduled, this must be discussed prior to payment (preferably at the previous lesson). If this is not expressed to me before payment, a $10 fee will incur and lessons may be rescheduled depending on availability. If no suitable time can be agreed lessons will be forfeited.

If you or your child is sick please refrain from attending the lesson and contact me directly via my phone number to reschedule (the 24 hour rule may apply here depending on the circumstances).

 

This cancellation policy is necessary to ensure a stable and consistent work schedule and environment.

Materials:

Students will be required to bring their own instrument as none will be supplied. Students are thoroughly encouraged to bring their own amplifier, cables and other equipment for the lesson. If this cannot happen than certain equipment can be provided. Textbooks and workbooks may be suggested and can be bought through me or a local music store. Notebooks must be brought to all lessons as to keep track of what is being taught and for providing homework tasks.

Public Holidays:

Lessons will still commence on public holidays. Students must attend unless rescheduled before payment date.

Professional Relationship With Teacher:

If students are over the age of 16, they will receive my contact details. In the case of any serious and or sudden issues lesson please contact me as soon as possible using my phone number so the lesson/s can be rescheduled or cancelled. If the issue does not require immediate attention feel free to contact me using any of the information provided and I will respond in the appropriate hours.
